Sarah Hayward

Bringing Stories to Life

From Halifax, Nova Scotia, to Vancouver, Sarah Hayward has built a creative life filled with memorable characters, unexpected adventures, and a healthy appreciation for the wonderfully absurd.

A Life in Character

From quirky comedic characters to memorable dramatic roles, Sarah Hayward has built a career embracing the wonderfully unpredictable world of acting.

Her television and film credits include Schmigadoon!, Space Force, The Audacity, and Elle, the Legally Blonde prequel for Prime Video. Having recently completed filming the second season of Elle, Sarah continues to bring her distinctive warmth, humor, and imagination to every character she portrays.

For Sarah, acting is about more than stepping into someone else’s shoes. It’s an opportunity to explore human behavior, discover unexpected perspectives, and find the extraordinary hiding within the ordinary.

Beyond the Camera!

Sarah’s creativity doesn’t stop when the cameras do. An enthusiastic singer, painter, writer, and storyteller, she’s fascinated by the shifts in perspective that transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, revealing beauty and wonder in unexpected places.

One of her greatest creative thrills was performing her original one-person musical, Stripes: The Mystery Circus, at the Chester Playhouse in Nova Scotia, following a tour of Canada’s Fringe circuit and a New York engagement at the Cherry Lane Theatre Annex.

Drawn from personal experiences, observations of the delightful absurdity of human behavior, and a wildly imaginative spirit, Stripes reflects Sarah’s unique combination of humor, heart, and creative curiosity.

And the storytelling continues! Sarah is currently developing a new musical inspired by a place that has been part of her life for 35 years: the library, where she has worked part-time while pursuing her creative career.

Behind the Mic

A lifelong mystery enthusiast and devoted audiobook listener, Sarah knows the magic of a story that draws you in and keeps you guessing.

She’s also stepped behind the microphone herself, bringing her character work to audio storytelling as the Professor in Middlebridge Mysteries, an Audible Original.

And when she’s not recording? There’s a good chance she’s listening!

As Sarah puts it, “Audiobooks keep me entertained, engaged & calm in traffic!”
